We are a successful Accountancy Practice that specialises in day-to-day accounting and tax needs and are currently looking for both an experienced Audit Senior and an Accounts Junior

Audit Senior

The Audit Senior will be expected to independently perform audit assignments. You will be required to carry out audit duties for a broad range of medium to large owner managed clients such as property companies, manufacturing and Service Companies. The vast majority of Audit clients will have turnovers in excess of 6 million.

Duties:

Perform and plan smaller audits either alone or leading a small team
Obtain background data for audit planning.
Prepare & review financial statements.
Prepare corporation tax computations.
Draft Management letters and reports.
Ensure time budgets are maintained.
Maintain client confidentiality and professional relationships.
Supervise and assist junior staff.
Liaise with other departments in order to efficiently and effectively complete jobs.
Be a team player and actively partake in technical training sessions.

Person Specification:

You would need -

  • To be ACCA or ACA qualified or finalist.
  • To have at least 2 years’ experience within a multi-partner practice with at least 40% audit exposure.
  • To be technically strong with a good knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
  • To be an ambitious individual who has already established experience within auditing, and is looking to develop this area further.

This position is suited to someone who thrives under challenge, is delivery focused, enjoys accountability, has a ‘can-do’ attitude and is looking to improve his/her skills and competencies through self-development.

Additionally you will need to:

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Be able to build strong relationships with clients.
  • Have an aptitude for teamwork and problem solving.
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure.
  • Be looking for long term career enhancement and desire to train and undertake new experiences.
  • Have good letter writing skills.
  • Be a competent user of Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ideally you are a driver with your own car.

Accounts Junior

We are also currently looking to recruit an Accounts Junior to join our friendly team.

Summary of the role:

  • Preparation of management accounts, VAT returns & bookkeeping from client core records.
  • Preparation and assisting with file completion of accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Statutory accounts preparation.
  • Assisting with audits.
  • Assisting with P11D preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and completion of accounts/audits at client’s premises or at our offices for accounts senior or managerial review.
  • Amendment and updating of file following director or manager review.
  • Assisting with and completion of periodic and statutory accounts.
  • Completion of accounts/audit preparation programmes.
  • Completion of money laundering documentation.
  • Ensure correct disclosures in accordance with Companies Acts.
  • Ensure work is carried out promptly and efficiently within budgets and deadlines.
  • Quarterly or monthly bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT return preparation from client individual documents or core records either at Firm’s offices or client’s premises.
  • Prepare Financial Reporting Review and Benchmarking reports.
  • Identify possible improvements to client systems.
  • Prioritise work - and identify work shortfall or overload periods.
  • Contact at appropriate level with client’s staff.
  • Assisting the Senior/Manager in the planning and completion of accounts and audit work.
  • Basic business tax computations
  • Identify disallowable expenditure
  • Assist in the preparation of P11D’s

Person specification:

You will currently be working in an accountancy practice with 6-18 months experience.
You will have experience of Iris (preferable or other similar package), Excel, Sage accounts, QuickBooks, Kashflow.
Currently studying AAT
Organised and able to prioritise your own workload.
Ability to travel to Tunbridge Wells by car.
